PACU RN Job Description PACU RN Job Summary Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel assignment in the PACU unit. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. The role involves monitoring patients, managing pain, preventing complications, and ensuring a smooth transition to the next level of care. Every other weekend and holiday coverage required. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in the PACU setting. • Monitor vital signs and assess patient condition post-anesthesia. • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. • Manage pain and prevent complications. • Document patient care accurately and completely. • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals. • Educate patients and families on post-operative care. • Float within the specialty, ICU/critical care, and lower acuity as needed, including to sister hospitals as needed. Required Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience. (Will consider first-time travelers with strong ICU/Critical Care Experience) • Active MD or Compact RN License. • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only).
