Job Description

Retreat Care Group is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for our Northfield, IL office to serve as a cornerstone in the delivery of holistic, patient-centered care. This role extends beyond conventional nursing, integrating a deep understanding of biological systems, nutrition, lifestyle, and preventive strategies to support optimal patient health and wellness. The RN collaborates closely with functional medicine practitioners and administrative staff to guide patients on their individualized healing journeys. Key Responsibilities • Patient Assessment and Education: May conduct initial patient assessments, triaging of acute symptoms, and obtaining proper consents prior to interventions. Collect pertinent data, review patient records, and support providers in the creation of personalized care plans. • Care Coordination: Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and ancillary staff. Assist with schedule follow-up appointments and ensure seamless communication regarding care protocols. • Clinical Support: Perform vital sign monitoring, administer vitamin and peptide injections, IV Therapy, phlebotomy / blood work / specimen processing, perform In-body Assessments, and collect specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepare patients for procedures and assist providers as needed during exams or treatments. • Integrative Health Education: Support answering follow up questions of patients on principles of functional medicine, including nutrition, lifestyle interventions, stress management, and targeted supplementation as directed by the provider. • Lab Management: Manage in-office and send-out laboratory tests, ensure accurate specimen collection, process orders, and relay critical findings to patients when directed by the provider. Perform specimen collection, and patient education, of specialty tests when ordered by providers, including by not limited to Urinalysis, Flu/COVID Testing, Adrenal Stress Test, and Intestinal Barrier Testing. • Documentation: Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with HIPAA and office policies. Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes. • Operational Improvement: Participate in office-wide initiatives to improve patient care, streamline workflows, and uphold best practices in functional and integrative medicine. • Team Collaboration: Attend regular staff meetings and scheduled training days. Contribute to a culture of mutual respect, wellness, and shared mission within the clinic. Qualifications: • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois. • Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution. ER, ICU, or Women’s Health experience preferred with proficient IV skills and comfort working independently. • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, ideally with exposure to functional, integrative, or holistic health settings. • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity for empathetic patient interaction. • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard office applications. • Ability to work independently, adapt to patient needs, and participate in a dynamic, evolving, fast-paced healthcare environment. • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and self-directed learning in the field of functional medicine.
