Job Posting: Part-Time Float RN – Hospice

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Part-Time Float Location: Grand Rapids Area

About the Role:

Emmanuel Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Float RN to join our interdisciplinary hospice care team. This role provides skilled nursing care, education, and support to patients and families across multiple care settings. As a float nurse, you will assist the nursing team with assessments, treatment planning, and interventions, while ensuring continuity of care across our service area.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs
• Develop, evaluate, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide skilled nursing care including wound dressings, IVs, blood draws, and catheter care
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on symptom management, disease processes, and the hospice philosophy
• Coordinate with physicians, hospice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver exemplary end-of-life care
• Assist with bereavement counseling and provide emotional support to families and caregivers
• Perform urgent need visits and provide post-mortem care, including pronouncement of death and family support
• Supervise and evaluate Hospice Aide services, including periodic on-site visits
• Ensure compliance with Emmanuel Hospice policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Travel within the service area to patient homes and healthcare facilities

Qualifications & Experience:
• Valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan
• BSN preferred, Associate degree/diploma required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; 1 year in acute care or hospice preferred
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records required
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in varied environments, including patient homes and healthcare facilities
• Frequent travel required within the Emmanuel Hospice service area
