
Registered Nurse - Pediatric Care - PRN in Starks, LA
Job Description
As a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatric care, you will provide both routine and complex nursing care while demonstrating a strong understanding of clinical situations. You will be responsible for developing and managing care plans that support long-term patient outcomes and adapting to the dynamic needs of our patients. Your role will also entail coordinating care with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Exhibit OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Utilize the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—to deliver high-quality nursing care for assigned pediatric patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, based on your level of expertise.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring patients for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided accurately and timely.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients and their caregivers, identifying relevant issues and available resources.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience
• A minimum of 1 year in a pediatric nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• Current BLS certification required.
• Active RN License in the state of employment or compact required.
All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire and will be precepted by a trained staff member. Successful completion of both organizational and Pediatric Services-specific competency verifications is mandatory.
Position Requirements:
• Completion of annual competency requirements is necessary.
• Recent experience in a Pediatric Setting or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency is preferred.
• Current PALS or PEARS certification required.
In accordance with company policy, all Associates must obtain required certifications within designated timeframes. Depending on your experience level, specific grace periods for certification acquisition will apply.
