Overview: We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Minor Surgical Procedures, internally referred to as our Surgical Nurse or Perioperative Nurse, in the Operating Room (OR) at Saint John Hospital (SJH), (Leavenworth, KS), a member of Prime Healthcare. As an OR RN for surgery procedures, you are directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, and indirectly to the House Supervisor. Shift’s Available: Days Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN); at least 3 shifts/every 6 weeks Hours: 8-hour shift: 6:00a - 2:30p/8:00a - 4:30p (flex with number of cases) Location: Saint John Hospital - Leavenworth, KS Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: • Competitive compensation • Health insurance option • 401K • *If you have at least one year of experience in the Perioperative area of the operating room as a Circulator, OR Nurse, PACU Nurse or Surgical Nurse you are encouraged to apply! Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): • Responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adults 18+ • Coordinate the care of the patient with the surgeon and anesthesiologist • Directs and guides the OR Technician and other personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing • Works with other departments to provide a continuum of care and co-workers to provide continuous, quality patient care, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization • Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures • Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services • Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate Qualifications: Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.
