Role Overview
As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will be vital in providing immediate post-operative care for surgical patients. Your role involves managing airway support, closely monitoring patients’ neurological and cardiac status, and promptly addressing any complications. You will also provide initial wound care and collaborate closely with the surgical and anesthesia teams. Be prepared for on-call availability during certain non-business hours, which will be discussed during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while implementing evidence-based practices and fostering continuous improvement.
• Collaborate within a dynamic interdisciplinary team, actively engaging with providers and ancillary services.
• Employ critical thinking, scientific judgment, and technical skills to ensure the safe delivery of nursing care.
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, documenting any changes and care provided accurately.
• Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up measures.
Qualifications:
• Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 1 year of employment start date.
• Must obtain PALS within 1 year of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Associate Degree required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
