Registered Nurse - Post Surgical PACU - PRN Position in Cheneyville, LA

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Post Surgical PACU team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independence in a clinical setting while effectively managing complex patient care. This role involves both routine and advanced care practices, along with the capability to set long-range goals for patients' postoperative recovery. The nurse will play a vital role in delegation and assignment management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
• Meet and exceed the expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: leading oneself, others, or leaders.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care by applying the nursing process effectively, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families, tailoring interventions to each unique situation.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment efficacy.
• Document detailed patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
• Evaluate learning needs and deliver education to patients, family members, and caregivers, ensuring they have access to vital resources.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• BLS certification required.
• Current RN License in the state of employment or compact required.

Position Requirements:

Education/Skills
• All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member with validation through competency completion.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.

Experience
• Preferred experience in a perioperative RN residency or recent practice in an OR/Perioperative Setting.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current PALS or ENPC certification required.

All associates must obtain required certifications for their positions within the designated timeframe as per CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy.

Credential Grace Periods:

If the position requirements include additional credentials, a grace period for certification may be applicable based on your experience level.
• Experienced Associates must have at least one year of acute care clinical experience in a similar service line within the past three years.
• Candidates without the requisite experience may be classified as Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.
