About the Role As a Registered Nurse in our Pre-Admission Testing Center, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective nursing care for our preoperative patients. Your expertise in identifying potential perioperative risk factors and collaborating with healthcare providers is vital for ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive assessments by reliably obtaining and interpreting patient data, documenting problems, and establishing care plans tailored to individual needs. • Implement patient-centered care, coordinating with the healthcare team and educating patients and caregivers to meet established health goals. • Identify and address potential perioperative risk factors, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure smooth admissions. • Exhibit strong nursing competencies to meet the diverse needs of patients of all ages. • Provide exemplary customer service by responding compassionately to patient needs and maintaining confidentiality. • Deliver preoperative education aligned with Hartford HealthCare guidelines. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, coaching, and mentoring staff to enhance nursing practices. • Engage in self-directed learning to maintain licensure and competencies. • Perform tasks such as venipuncture, EKGs, and vital sign monitoring while coordinating specialty consultations as needed. Qualifications • Minimum of three years of diverse clinical nursing experience, including medical/surgical or acute care. Licensure and Certifications • Active Connecticut RN license. • BLS and ACLS certifications. Education • RN diploma or associate degree required; BSN preferred. Language Skills • Proficiency in English required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong understanding of patient care standards in pre and post-surgical settings. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals. • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. • Proficient with general computer skills. • Ability to provide patient-centered service and age-appropriate care. • Meticulous attention to detail and effective prioritization skills.
