Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures quality and safe delivery of Home Care services: RN will manage the skills training and testing of skills for client care staff. RN will provide counsel for staff and client care staff. RN will provide consult for clients. Review client documentation necessary to provide In Home Support Services (IHSS). Provide in home supervision for clients. RN will verify and document all contact with clients and training with client care staff.
Registered Nurse responsibilities include:
Administering a skills validation test for caregivers. Skills validation must be completed prior to service delivery unless postponed by the client or Authorized Representative to prevent interruption in services. The reason for postponement shall be documented by the IHSS in the clients file. In no event shall the skills validation be postponed for more than 30 days after services begin to prevent interruption in services.
Verify and document all caregiver skills and competencies to perform IHSS and basic client safety procedures.
Counsel caregivers and staff on difficult cases and potentially dangerous situations.
Consult with the client, or Authorized Representative in the event a medical issue arises.
Investigate complaints and critical incidents within ten (10) calendar days.
Verify the caregiver follow all tasks on the Care Plan.
Review the Care Plan, Physician Attestation for Consumer Capacity form upon initial enrollment, follow any changes of condition, and upon the request of the client, their Authorized Representative.
Provide in-home supervision for the client as agreed upon by the client or their Authorized Representative.
Provide in-home supervised visits for veteran clients and IHSS clients upon initial authorization and every 60 day and no more than 90 days thereafter. Document all supervised visits.
The ideal candidate will have:
• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
State-licensed Health Care professional with at minimum a Registered Nurse (RN).
Experience in home care or knowledge of the health care industry preferred.
Previous management experience.
Prior scheduling experience preferred.
Ability to effectively interact with clients, families and FirstLight team.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, & REGISTRATION
Current Registered Nursing License on file with the State of Colorado
Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and maintain adequate auto insurance
