Roles & Responsibilities • Provide primary nursing care for progressive care and step-down ICU patients, delivering attentive and compassionate bedside care • Monitor and interpret telemetry and continuous cardiac monitoring to identify changes in patient status early • Perform and interpret telemetry strip readings and manage fingerstick blood sugar assessments • Administer medications using Pyxis and document care accurately in Meditech charting • Support patients requiring BiPAP and other respiratory therapies with safe, evidence-based interventions • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-focused plans of care • Float to other acute units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and professional practice • Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical colleagues Qualifications • Active RN license in the State of Hawaii required by start of assignment • At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year • Progressive care and telemetry experience preferred • ACLS preferred • PALS preferred • NIHSS certification preferred • Comfortable floating to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU and ER units as needed • Ability to work varied/rotating shifts and maintain professional, patient-centered care Knowledge & Skills • Telemetry monitoring and continuous cardiac monitoring • Telemetry strip reading and rhythm recognition • Primary nursing care in an acute progressive care/step-down setting • Meditech electronic charting proficiency • Pyxis medication administration workflows • Experience with BiPAP and basic respiratory support • Familiarity with step-down ICU workflows and 1:3 to 1:4 staffing ratios • Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and teamwork Benefits • Generous travel support and reimbursement to make your move easier • Licensure assistance and reimbursement so you can get your Hawaii license squared away • Medical, dental, and vision coverage to keep you healthy • Life insurance and basic protections for peace of mind • Paid time off to recharge between shifts • Referral bonus program to reward teammates who bring great people on board • A supportive team that values YOU and your clinical expertise • Access to clinical tools and tech like Meditech and Pyxis so you can work efficiently Travel Perks: Explore Hilo, HI Welcome to Hilo — a beautiful base for your travel assignment.
