Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to provide clinical direction in diagnostic and interventional Radiology, specializing in Vascular or Neuro endovascular procedures. You will play a crucial role in supporting the procedural team by circulating, providing moderate sedation, scrubbing alongside the physician, and monitoring cases. Your expertise in evidence-based practices and research will ensure the highest quality care for our patients.

Essential Functions

• Conduct thorough pre-procedure assessments for sedation, including evaluating medical history and coordinating with the procedural team to ensure all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
• Maintain a safe and sterile working environment, demonstrating proficiency in emergency procedures and patient care protocols. Administer IV medications and follow strict radiation safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff, employing appropriate tools for seamless information exchange and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of patient care and procedural activities, adhering to nursing guidelines and policies to enhance patient understanding and consent.
• Provide patient education regarding procedures and health maintenance, fostering an environment of knowledge and understanding.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills to effectively manage the daily procedural schedule while anticipating physicians' needs and communicating any potential delays to patients and families.
• Manage the cleanliness and readiness of equipment and supplies, reporting any maintenance issues promptly to ensure reliable and safe operations.
• Practice proper sterile techniques during all procedures to maintain patient safety and infection control.
• Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergency situations, demonstrating strong clinical assessments and interventions.
• Oversee accurate and timely documentation of case events, ensuring quality metrics are recorded properly.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the department.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility
• This is a non-management position that reports to a supervisor or manager.

Minimum Requirements
• Education: Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: Two years of experience in Critical Care, CCL or interventional settings.

In Lieu Of
• Diploma in Nursing with RN licensure may be considered in lieu of an Associate degree.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
• Active RN license in South Carolina.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• RCIS certification is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Familiarity with angiographic exams, interventional procedures, and the operation of radiographic equipment.
• Understanding of contrast agents and physiological monitoring equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant medical supplies including catheters and stents.
