Job Summary: The Registered Nurse Resident provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics, The RN assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for his/her own professional advancement, Qualifications: • BSN preferred, • Completion of Clinical experience in NLN accredited school preferred, • Current NJ RN Licensure required, • Current American Heart Association CPR/BLS required, • Current American Heart Association ACLS/PALS required, • National certification preferred, • New Grads welcome to apply OR Training: • 5 week classroom course • Then classroom and hands-on Operating Room training • Totalling nine months orientation • Full Time Essential Functions: • Responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors, • Responsible for knowledge of the patient population served, • Communicate effectively and collaborate with nurses and other patient care providers, • The RN is an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team member integrating safety, quality and the experience of care while individualizing the plan of care to address a specific patient s needs when providing care, • The RN is required to actively participate in performance improvement activities, • Other essential duties as required, Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
