Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) for 36 hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
38 bed Acute Medical unit improves the quality of care for the medical patient. Patients are admitted to this floor for multiple acute chronic diseases such as TB, GI, Pneumonia, Dialysis, Ortho as well as trachs, isolations and cardiac overflow. All beds can be tele monitored
We are a General Medicine Residency unit which has Medicine Interns and second and third year Medicine Physicians on the unit 24/7.

Here's What You Need
Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
BSN preferred
One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
BCLS (AHA) prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI training within 90 days of hire
2 years Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Prefer strong med/surg experience including charge/preceptor skills
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
