Position Overview:
• Provide compassionate, direct patient care to adolescents in a psychiatric setting, in accordance with our facility's policies and procedures.
• Conduct thorough bio-psychosocial assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans aligned with master treatment strategies.
• Engage in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to collaborate on planning and updating patient goals and interventions.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide essential support to patients throughout their treatment journey.
• Monitor and evaluate patients' responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary based on changes in their condition.
• Conduct assessments that encompass the physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual complexities of each patient, ensuring tailored care.
• Document comprehensive nursing care plans in collaboration with patients and their families, focusing on holistic needs.
• Deliver patient care in strict adherence to physicians' orders and our established protocols, substantiated by thorough documentation.
• Recognize and respond effectively to changes in patient status, revising care plans to prioritize patient needs.
• Delegate nursing tasks to team members according to their qualifications, promoting optimal care for our patients.
• Exhibit the necessary knowledge and skills to address the unique needs of behavioral health patients and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for optimal outcomes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and uphold the standards outlined by ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics.
Qualifications:
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Capability to effectively manage crisis situations with the techniques learned in MOAB training.
• Active Registered Nurse license issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health required before your start date.
• Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required within 60 days of hire.
