Job Summary:
• Provide compassionate direct care to behavioral health patients, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
• Conduct initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments, employing accepted nursing practices, to develop individualized nursing care plans that align with the master treatment plan.
• Actively participate in treatment team conferences, contributing to the planning, evaluation, and revision of patient goals, objectives, and interventions tailored to each patient's unique needs.
• Implement nursing care plans for assigned patients and co-lead group therapy sessions, fostering an engaging and supportive environment.
• Regularly evaluate patients' responses to care interventions and collaborate with the treatment team to adjust treatment goals and plans as necessary.
• Assess patients according to hospital policies, identifying their physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs to ensure personalized care.
• Collaborate with patients and their families to develop and document comprehensive nursing care plans that address their diverse needs.
• Deliver direct patient care following physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accurate documentation in medical records.
• Recognize changes in patients' conditions and revise care plans accordingly, ensuring optimal care delivery.
• Delegate appropriate care tasks to nursing personnel based on their qualifications to enhance overall patient care and team performance.
• Show proficiency in caring for behavioral health patients and working with interdisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.
• Uphold the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice (2015), ANA Code of Ethics (2015), and ANA Social Policy Statement (2015).

Qualifications:
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage out-of-control patients individually and within a team, utilizing methods taught in MOAB training.
• A valid Registered Nurse license from the Connecticut Department of Public Health is required prior to hire.
• Certification as a BLS Provider from AHA or American Red Cross must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
