Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN)Location: Kips Bay, NY Hours/Days: 4/10 Hour Shifts 8a-6p (RDO TBD at a later time) Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)In This Role, You Will:Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physicianRecognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration recordCollaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledgeParticipate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocolProvide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellnessTeach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations.Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive medications.Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency servicesWe Require:Valid New York State RN LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reachingKnowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluidsMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations throughout Suffolk county What We Offer:Salary: Starting at $52 per hour based on experienceBenefits: Health Insurance on day 1, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short- and Long- 401k Plan, Paid Time Off (PTO), 8 paid holidays (2 floating), short term disability, Join us at NYCBS, where we are making strides in healthcare through innovative and compassionate care.
