Loyola Medicine's 3 hospitals are located approximately 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago.MacNeal Hospital's Progressive Care Unit is a 25-bed unit that routinely cares for patients with complex medical conditions. Our unit specializes in angina, syncope, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, and pre/post cardiac intervention. Cardiac Telemetry Nurses are trained in performing EKG's, interpreting cardiac rhythms, administration of IV cardiac medications, phlebotomy, and certified in ACLS.MacNeal Hospital was recognized as a Magnet With Distinction Hospital in 2024. MacNeal nurses participate in shared governance and are active in practice-related decision making that influence their daily work.
