RN Cath Lab Part Time Days Position Summary

Circulates and Monitors all Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Procedures including Structural Heart Procedures. Able to mix and administer intraprocedural and emergency cardiac medications including providing conscious sedation medications. Scrubbing training available for Nurse who are interested to expand their role.

Special Skills: Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with team members are required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above-average pressure. Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing and wearing the additional weight of lead aprons during procedures. Excellent customer service skills. Must have basic computer skills. Must be able to take call and be within 30 minutes of Abrazo Heart Hospital.

Shift: 6a-630p (12 hr Shifts)

THE RN CATH LAB PART TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing school

PREFERRED EDUCATION: BSN

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 1+ years Emergency Department, ICU or Procedural setting nursing experience may be considered.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

At least one (1) year of prior Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred. Hemodynamics experience preferred.

Certification in specialty area of practice preferred.

Strongly preferred expr in CVICU or ICU or Min 2 years in Cardiac Stepdown.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona.

Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews every two years.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: )

Certified as a Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) is preferred

Working hours:

06:00-18:30

Oncall Assignment

is required after hours, on the weekends, and Holidays as per rotation.

Response Requirement

To be able to respond to emergencies within 30 minutes of alert.

Team

Four team members for both working hours and on call teams (1 Scrub, 1 RT, 1 circulating RN, 1 Monitoring personnel)

Equipment

The department uses Philips x-ray equipment, Acist injectors, Philips IVUS/iFR, Xper Monitoring System, Cerner PowerChart, and Spacetrax Inventory System.
