Overview:
Utilizes nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide comprehensive, age appropriate nursing care for low acuity assigned patients. Assists with the shift supervision of nonprofessional personnel as necessary.

Responsibilities:
• Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate plan of care for the low acuity patient and family which promotes optimal patient outcomes.
• Meets the educational and informational needs of the low acuity patient and family, utilizing appropriate principles of teaching/learning.
• Promotes safe, efficient, family-centered care to low acuity patients.
• Delegates nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient care requirements.
Qualifications:
• Associate's Degree ADN Required.
• Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role.
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013.
• Nurses hired after this date without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date.
• One of the following required upon hire:
• Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri
• Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas
• RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
• Employees must obtain Licensed RN - Kansas or Missouri multistate within 90 days
• Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications required upon hire
• Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $31.50/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home:
This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
