
Registered Nurse RN Day Shift in Applewood, CO
Job Description
Position Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse where you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality resident care. Your work will be essential in meeting the holistic needs of residents while adhering to State and Federal laws and Community policies.
Essential Duties
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, pharmacists, and family members regarding residents' health statuses.
• Address and escalate resident, family, or physician concerns as necessary.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences; maintain accurate and up-to-date Resident Care Plans.
• Prepare, administer, and record medications as prescribed, ensuring prompt ordering of needed prescriptions and replacement of expired medications.
• Accurately document patient care issues and communicate them to relevant team members.
• Identify and respond to signs and symptoms effectively, using sound judgment to determine appropriate treatments.
• Provide supervision and guidance to ancillary personnel, taking corrective action when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications & Experience
• Active Colorado Registered Nursing License, in good standing.
• Preferred advanced training in geriatrics.
• 1-year experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong customer service skills.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
• Moderate physical activity, including lifting objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
• Potential exposure to chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and infectious diseases.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move during work hours.
• Frequent interruptions and interactions with residents, family members, and visitors.
