Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to residents and ensures quality, safe, and continuous care in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor, or Director of Nursing, the RN assesses resident needs, administers medications and treatments, coordinates care delivery, supervises nursing staff, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.

Assignment Information
• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Must work Every Other Weekend (EOW) (both Saturday and Sunday)
• 1 Classroom Orientation from 8:30 AM; 1 week of buddying (2 weeks if New Graduate)
Required Qualifications
• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum three (3) months of RN experience in a long-term care nursing home setting (Preferred)
• BSN degree (Preferred)
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Preferred)
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN) or equivalent under NYS Education Law
• BLS certification
• Completion of New York State–approved Infection Control and Barrier Precautions training
• Completion of NYSED-approved Child Abuse Identification and Reporting training
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate patient care
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Basic computer skills for electronic medical record documentation
Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care based on clinical findings
• Collect and document resident health status and ongoing assessments
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policy
• Monitor resident responses to medications and treatments and report changes promptly
• Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation
• Provide change-of-shift reporting and participate in medication counts
• Ensure compliance with NYSDOH regulations, facility policies, and infection control standards
• Communicate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and high-acuity situations

• Long-term care nursing home environment
• Possible exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, dust, and chemical odors
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to prioritize duties and remain calm in high-stress or emergency situations
