Registered Nurse (RN) - ECC Emergency Care at Yale New Haven Health summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Care is responsible for providing goal-directed, individualized nursing care in the emergency department, assessing patients' physical and psychological conditions continuously. The role requires adherence to hospital policies, participation in staff education, and collaboration with healthcare teams to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care. Candidates must have ED experience, proper nursing licensure, and certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS within the required timeframe.

Manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies and procedures. Contacts

1. Essential Functions 1.1 Assesses the patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care in the ED. Documents appropriately the information obtained from the ongoing assessment. Shares significant assessment data with the appropriate discipline.

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

EXPERIENCE

ED experience required

LICENSURE

Current state registration or eligibility to do so. BLS, ACLS Required. PALS certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
