We serve around 300,000 people throughout 19 towns. Position Summary: As an RN, you will deliver exceptional patient-centered care using the nursing process. You will coordinate patient needs and collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes. Your responsibilities will include assessing patient conditions and creating a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment across various age groups. Qualifications • Graduation from an accredited nursing school and a current Registered Nurse license in the state of Connecticut. • CPR certification is required upon hire and must be maintained throughout your employment. • Training in PMT and de-escalation techniques, with certification obtained within 6 months of starting the role. Essential Competencies: • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written. • Basic computer proficiency. • Ability to act swiftly and efficiently in emergencies, including potential patient restraint when necessary. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, focusing on psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural needs. • Assess and manage pain using appropriate tools and techniques; educate patients and families accordingly. • Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans based on assessments and patient responses. • Administer medications safely, adhering to best practices and documenting accurately. • Provide patient care in a safe environment that fosters positive health outcomes. • Document nursing processes and patient responses promptly and accurately. • Demonstrate flexibility and organization while managing stress effectively. • Create teaching plans tailored to the patient’s learning needs, evaluating their effectiveness. • Maintain professional growth and serve as a role model for your peers. • Establish and uphold safe and therapeutic environments through appropriate interventions. • Exhibit empathy, clinical expertise, and interpersonal warmth, catering specifically to psychiatric patients. • Utilize psychological and physical management techniques to handle potentially violent situations, following PMT training. • Engage in Early Response codes and attend required PMT refresher trainings. • Set professional limits with patients while maintaining boundaries. • Collaborate effectively with the treatment team, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients. • Implement psychotherapeutic strategies and document their outcomes in patient records.
