Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Burn Unit | NightsJob Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with critical care/ICU experience to join an Inpatient Burn Unit on the night shift. This role provides specialized care to high-acuity burn and ICU-level patients while working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary care team.
The ideal candidate practices evidence-based nursing, demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, and delivers compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule & Assignment Details
• Shift: Night shift
• Hours: 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Start Availability: After 12/27/2025
• Patient Ratio: 2:1 (ICU-level patients)
• Employment Type: Agency / Contract
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using the full nursing process
• Provide patient- and family-centered care tailored to age, condition, and cultural needs
• Monitor, assess, and manage critically ill burn and ICU patients
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Participate in bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and patient education
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance
• Support quality improvement initiatives, shared governance, and evidence-based practice
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor when needed
• Utilize hospital policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards
Required Qualifications
• Active RN license (single-state or multistate compact)
• ICU experience required
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or Diploma required; BSN preferred)
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to function effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
Required Certifications
(All required upon hire unless otherwise noted)
• BLS – Basic Life Support
• ACLS – within 180 days if not current
• PALS – within 180 days if not current
• ABLS (Advanced Burn Life Support) – within 180 days if not current
Preferred Experience
• Direct inpatient or critical care nursing experience
• Burn unit or trauma exposure
• Participation in performance improvement or evidence-based practice initiatives
