Registered Nurse; RN in Bourbonnais, IL

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Registered Nurse (RN) – Citadel Healthcare Base pay range: $33.50/hr – $45.00/hr Citadel Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Bourbonnais, IL. As an RN you will assume responsibility and accountability for a group of residents or a shift of duty. Nursing care is provided through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. Registered Nurse Duties and Responsibilities • Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. • Ensure assigned work area (nurse station, medication cart, medication room, etc.), resident care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. • Takes and records residents' blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, administers IV therapy as ordered within license limitations, and provides respiratory care (e.g., oxygen, nebulizer treatments). • Chart nurse's notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided and the resident’s response to the care. • Ensure the resident’s environment is free from accidents and hazards; immediately correct/ address potential safety risks as prudent and warranted. • Monitor and direct non-licensed ancillary services as needed to meet professional standards and maintain the highest practicable level of resident care. • Communicate/report information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required by facility policy and State/Federal guidelines. • Ensure that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained; make recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards. • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and immediately correct/ address identified instances of non‑compliance. • Follow and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA compliance. • Perform any other duties as assigned. Registered Nurse Qualifications and Skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. • Gracious and welcoming personality for customer service interaction. • Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress. • Analytical and problem‑solving skills. • Ability to organize and prioritize work. • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures. • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel. • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff. • Possesses special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with short and long‑term care residents and the elderly. • Meets all health requirements, as required by law. • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability to learn company applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer, email). Registered Nurse Education and Experience • Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university. • Current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse. • Preferred 1 year of experience; long‑term care experience preferred. Physical Requirements • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling; ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; all with or without mechanical devices is required. • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required. • Meet all health requirements as needed. • Dialogue concerning ADA reasonable accommodations always available upon request.
