What You’ll Do

As a Registered Nurse you’ll report to the Manager of Patient Care Services. You will provide professional nursing services, assess the needs of patients and initiate, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care. You collaborate with other professional, clinical and ancillary staff in providing quality care to patients.

Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities
• Perform high-risk, high-frequency technical procedures safely, effectively, efficiently, and legally.
• Set and adjust care priorities based on patient acuity, resources, preferences, timelines, and departmental needs.
• Act promptly to prevent or reduce physical or emotional health risks.
• Advocate for patients and families to achieve appropriate outcomes.
• Maintain accountability for personal and delegated actions, using evidence-based standards and organizational values.
• Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform independently and safely.
• Utilize internal/external resources to resolve or prevent issues beyond individual scope.
• Develop and update care plans based on ongoing assessments, measurable goals, patient/family values, and identified needs.
• Implement and maintain interventions to ensure safe, continuous care across the continuum.
• Modify or discontinue interventions based on effectiveness and patient satisfaction.
• Document assessments, actions, and outcomes consistently within guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with team members to achieve quality outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on patient complexity, staff roles, and unit needs, while maintaining accountability.
• Stay informed on clinical advancements.
• Support departmental goals for clinical excellence, service quality, fiscal responsibility, and workplace culture.
• Mentor and assist colleagues through role modeling and feedback.

What You Bring

You bring a high level of knowledge and competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments, treatment and techniques. You demonstrate advanced analytical skills necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care. You have the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians and others. You demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner. You bring an understanding of the need to be responsive and reasonably adaptable for scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions.

Required Qualifications
• Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana.
• Candidates must have or obtain a BSN within five (5) years of employment as a Registered Nurse or will have the option to become certified in their area of specialty. The certification must be maintained based off of accrediting body standards.
• Attendance at one annual orientation in service each year to review hospital policies and procedures is mandatory or view staff orientation presentation on the intranet and turn in quiz to Human Resources.
