Your Next Opportunity awaits you! The Medical ICU is a 28-bed adult ICU that provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care to critically ill patients. Nurse to patient ratios are based on acuity but are typically 1:2 and function within a team environment. The unit employs over 120 nurses with over 750 years of combined experience. Our team cares for the adult patient who needs critical care nursing expertise and the critical care monitoring the MICU provides. We care for patients with a variety of illnesses and diseases that involve the lungs, liver, kidneys, and other unique viruses. Many patients have long-term chronic diseases and require the specialized care of the medical critical care RN. Many of these illnesses are life-ending and the interdisciplinary team supports the patient and the family during this difficult time. Knowledge of ventilators, vasopressors, and intravascular monitoring is needed or will be taught to the novice ICU clinician in a team-focused, patient-centric environment. Apply Today! Minimum Qualifications - • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required . Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. • Licensure/ Certifications: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required . Physical Demands - Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative , auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.
