Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent's Medical Center, you will provide direct nursing care in alignment with our established policies and procedures. Your role is vital in implementing and monitoring patient care plans, ensuring seamless coordination among all disciplines for optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and monitor patient care plans, recording and communicating patient conditions accurately.
• Act as the primary coordinator among healthcare disciplines for cohesive patient care.
• Document and fulfill physician and nursing orders efficiently.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Utilize critical thinking and assessment skills to identify diverse needs of patients, providing personalized care.
• Delegate care responsibilities in accordance with the education and expertise of nursing personnel to maximize performance.
• Engage actively in interdisciplinary patient rounds, contributing valuable insights for desired patient outcomes.
• Adhere to the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, Code of Ethics, and Social Policy Statement.
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans as necessary.
• Participate in professional growth activities beyond direct patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
