A3 is a vibrant 30-bed unit where our team of caring and skilled professionals provides compassionate care to a diverse medical/surgical patient population. Our staff follows Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols to enhance postoperative outcomes. We are an energetic, collaborative team committed to excellence in a fast-paced setting. JOB SUMMARY
As a Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate clinical expertise through the nursing process and build synergistic relationships with patients. You will assess and identify patient needs, establish and implement care plans, and evaluate the care provided.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of a school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• One (1) year of RN experience or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program; two (2) or more years in a similar clinical setting preferred.
• Must possess a current, unrestricted Connecticut RN license in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
• Ability to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire; ACLS and department-specific certifications are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong foundational knowledge of nursing principles and practices. You should possess the ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately. Excellent communication skills are essential for conveying complex information effectively. The role also requires flexibility, effective multitasking, and a commitment to teamwork in a challenging environment.
A high level of analytical ability is needed to interpret information from various sources and respond appropriately to changing conditions and emergency situations. Maintaining confidentiality at all times is crucial.
