Registered Nurse (RN) Ortho Plastics

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am rotating weekends and holidays

• 36-bed Ortho/Plastics Unit
• The post-surgical team provides care to the patient population with Ortho and plastic surgeries, hip fractures, elective hip and knee surgeries, flaps, graphs, reconstructive plastic hip fractures, single fractures, chest tubes, trachs, pelvic and femur fractures. Here's What You Need
+ Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Diploma of Nursing. BSN preferred
+ Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
+ BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
+ CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
+ 1-year experience as a registered nurse required or completion of an RN Residency program required.
+ Previous Med/surg RN or ER experience preferred
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
