Registered Nurse (RN) – Mother Baby PRN III Mid Shift

Work location: Texas Health Denton: 3000 N I-35 Denton, Texas 76201
Work hours: PRN Level III/per diem, Mid Shift; 11a-11p as needed; minimum requirement: 6 shift/per 6-week schedule, 2 weekend shift/per 6-week schedule, 1 major/2 minor holiday requirements
Department Highlights
• The Center for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is a Texas 10-step facility with the “Best Place to Have a Baby” designation. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
• The unit has 23 beds Postpartum/Newborn, Couplet Care, 12 LDR beds, 2 OR suites, 3 private recovery rooms, 6 Antepartum rooms and 4 private OB/ED beds
• Level III NICU with 16 beds with private rooms
• The unit delivers an average 200 a month.
• OB Hospitalist 24/7
• Anesthesiologist dedicated to L&D 24/7
• Brand new Women’s Tower that opened July 2022
Qualifications
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days required
• NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days required
• 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse required
• Mother Baby experience preferred
What You Will Do
• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventional
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers

The ground floor houses a breast imaging center, outpatient physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and an internal medicine residency program.
