Schedule Details:
Nights
8 and 12 hr shifts
Every third weekend rotation
Holiday rotation
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for 3rd Shift
Student Loan Forgiveness: Up to $20,000

Unit Overview:
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit where you'll provide care to a diverse patient population, including:
Post-operative craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resections. Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries. Patients recovering from hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program. A high volume of cervical and spinal surgeries and other medical overflow cases.
As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Deliver and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based patient care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate care. Utilize clinical judgment and skilled communication to support optimal patient outcomes. Contribute to a positive patient experience throughout their care journey.

Major Responsibilities:
Assess patient needs, plan interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness while involving patients and families. Recognize and respond to significant changes in patient conditions promptly. Coordinate and implement patient discharge plans collaboratively. Contribute to safety by identifying and addressing potential risks. Demonstrate leadership within the care team and effective communication skills. Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Licensure and Certification:
Necessary qualifications include:
Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
Education and Experience:
Completion of an accredited Nursing program. At least 1 year of experience in clinical nursing is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to provide holistic patient care with effective critical thinking. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients and team members. Proficiency in electronic medical records and computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
The position involves:
Frequent walking, standing, and lifting, with the ability to:
Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and push/pull with a force of 30 lbs.
