Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in our NICU, you will provide direct nursing care according to established policies and protocols.
Responsibilities Include:
• Implementing and monitoring patient care plans, recording and communicating patient conditions as needed.
• Coordinating patient care among all disciplines for well-coordinated service delivery.
• Following through on physician and nursing orders.
• Assessing patients' discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Demonstrating knowledge and skills to assess individual patient needs and provide tailored care.
• Delegating care responsibilities to fellow nursing personnel as appropriate to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participating in daily interdisciplinary rounds and contributing to patient care discussions.
• Adhering to the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, Code of Ethics, and Social Policy Statement.
• Developing and revising individualized plans of care as necessary.
• Engaging in professional growth activities outside of direct patient care.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Labor and delivery experience required.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred.
