
Registered Nurse (RN) - OR Ambulatory PACU Specialist in Sterling, CT

As a Registered Nurse in the OR Ambulatory PACU, you will work closely with interdisciplinary teams and utilize evidence-based practices to provide patient-centered care. You will develop comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate effectively within a diverse team to provide high-quality patient care.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient conditions and emergencies.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Requirements:
• Graduate of a nursing program.
• One year of nursing experience or completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire; ACLS and PALS within 90 days.
• Preferred Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing.
• Two or more years of experience in a similar clinical area.
• Certification in the clinical area, such as Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN).
Skills and Abilities:
• Understanding of nursing principles and practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in stressful environments.
• Commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
