We're currently seeking a dedicated and experienced PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Outpatient Clinics & Surgical Services team, where you'll provide high-quality care and compassionate support to patients across all phases of the surgical experience.
What You'll Do:
As the RN - Surgery, you will play a vital role in preparing patients for surgery, assisting during procedures, and guiding them through recovery. You will provide safe, thorough, and patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in surgical procedures by scrubbing and circulating as needed
• Provide pre-operative preparation and education to patients and families
• Deliver post-anesthesia care, including both Phase I and II recovery support
• Administer infusions, injections, and medications per provider orders
• Maintain surgical equipment and supply inventory
• Collect and document patient vitals, history, and status in both surgical and clinic settings
• Promote effective communication between providers, surgical staff, and clinic personnel
• Ensure a clean, safe, and healing environment for every patient
What We're Looking For:
Required:
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current, unrestricted Iowa RN license
• BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)
• ACLS and PALS certification (within 60-90 days of hire)
• Mandatory Reporter training (Dependent Adult and Child Abuse, within 30 days of hire)
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to adapt in changing surgical situations
• Excellent teamwork, time management, and patient communication skills
Preferred:
• Previous experience in surgery, PACU, or orthopedic nursing
• Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation systems

Compensation & Employment Details
• Status: PRN
• Department: Outpatient Clinics & Surgical Services
• Salary Range: $32.68 - $49.02 commensurate with experience
