Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU - Part-time, 7A Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are better together! Work location: Texas Health Southwest, 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132 Work hours: Part-time, 24 hours weekly, 2-12 hours shifts, 7a - 7p shift Department Highlights • 36 bed PCU Department; Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:4 depending on acuity • Patient population: intermediate /telemetry level of care for the post-acute stroke, general medical, endocrine GI/renal patient population • MAGNET facility • Level III Trauma Center • Primary Stroke center • Stroke/Neuro designated unit • Enjoy self-scheduling to help with work/life balance. • Excellent opportunities for educational and career growth including advancement opportunities in leadership Here's what you need • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire • BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly • ACLS - within 90 days of hire • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire • NIHSS - within 90 days of hire • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required • PCU/Tele experience preferred In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will • demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs. • The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient's affiliations. What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process assesses the patient plans the care of the patient intervenes as appropriate evaluates the effectiveness of interventions Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
