Apply now to join us as a Registered Nurse RN in our PACU PreOp. Job Summary and Qualifications As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will provide essential post-operative care for surgical patients. Your tasks will include managing airway support, monitoring neurological and cardiac status, and swiftly addressing any complications with care. Initial wound care will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring patient stability during recovery, and you will work collaboratively with surgical and anesthesia teams. This role may require on-call availability during off-hours, details of which will be discussed during the interview process. Position Details: • Self/Preferential Scheduling provided four weeks in advance. • Supportive and approachable leadership promotes a collaborative and respectful culture, empowering nurses to ask questions and share insights. • Staffing Assistance from Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, Charge Nurses, and an RN float pool for additional support as needed. • Regular rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, ensures your suggestions for improving patient care are valued. What You Will Do in This Role: • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care by implementing evidence-based practices and improvement initiatives. • Collaborate as a vital member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, which may include providers and therapy staff. • Utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, and technical skills to deliver safe nursing care independently. • Assess patient conditions, vigilantly monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient status along with care provided. • Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care. Qualifications Required: • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date. • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. • A minimum of six months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse. • Current Registered Nurse License in Texas or a Multi-State Compact License (those with a Compact License must obtain a Texas RN License within 60 days of hire). • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
