The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview: The Psychiatric Inpatient program at Trinitas Regional Medical Center (TRMC) is composed of six inpatient units with a total bed capacity of 110. The inpatient program admits patients five years of age or older who meet the criteria for inpatient admission. The program provides 24-hour-a-day, multidisciplinary, intensive treatment for patients with acute psychiatric disorders, cognitive impairment, and patients with autism and intellectual disabilities with varying medical complexities. The inpatient behavioral health services offer people with acute psychiatric crises who urgently require a safe environment, a supportive and structured milieu, and intensive psychiatric and physiological therapeutic intervention. The treatment program combines these elements into a unique and effective treatment program.  

Scheduling Requirements:
• Per Diem
• Evening
• Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed by dept

Qualifications:
• Active New Jersey  RN License or approved RN license required
• ASN or BSN required
• AHA BLS prior to start date required
• Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Health Nursing required
• Previous experience in Med Surg, Telemetry, and/or ER Nursing a plus
• Psychiatric-Mental Health certifications and/or national nursing certifications preferred

Essential Functions: The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports the philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
