At St. John’s Hospital, our Surgery Admit and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (SAU/PACU) is dedicated to guiding patients through every step of their surgical experience—from pre-operative preparation to safe recovery and discharge home. Our specialized team provides:The SAU/PACU provides comprehensive and specialized care in both pre-and post-operative care, including patient assessment, education, and recovery following anesthesia. Anesthesia nursing includes monitoring vital signs, pain control, airway status, other critical nursing skills and overall stability post anesthesia until patients are transferred or discharged home. Schedule: This is a day position, 80 hours per pay period, 10 hour shifts (9:00am-7:30pm), with weekends, holidays and call (call time is 30 minutes). The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
