Description Maine Medical Center Nursing Req #: 62085 Per Diem/As Needed (1 Shift Per Week Preferably Monday or Friday) This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to candidates with greater than 1 year of RN work experience The Short Stay Unit Registered Nurse at Maine Medical Center – Biddeford will be responsible for monitoring post-operative patients, ensuring their comfort, and supporting their recovery process in a facility that values high-standard patient care and teamwork. The 8 bed Pre/Post Surgical Unit willadmit and recover patients for surgical procedures including:Adult Robotic and Non-Robotic Surgery, orthopedic, gynecology, urology, abdominal surgery, bariatric, breast, and general surgery patients. This unit provides extensive education to patients and their families regarding post operative recovery and discharge planning. Summary IMC experience preferred. The Registered Nurse II - Acute Care – MMC BID SAN role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs) • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred. • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS. • Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role. • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required.
