A Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, we've served the community since 1971. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents. We are seeking to fill the position of Nurse Educator - Staff Development - RN . Annual Salary = $105,000 - $115,000. Registered Nurse - Staff Development Educator - RN Qualifications: Current New York RN - Registered Nurse License. Current CPR certification. Minimum of 1 years’ experience in nursing supervision or nursing management in a long-term care setting. Minimum of 3 years Long-Term Care experience. Professional attitude, high degree of self-motivation and leadership qualities. Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Registered Nurse - Staff Development Educator - RN Job Summary: Manage educational department activities within rules of the long-term care facility to ensure facility compliance. Plan, implement, direct, and evaluate the education program based on identified resident needs, staff needs, federal, state, and local regulations. Coordinate the orientation program for new staff and other programs. Plan and publish the in-service calendar for all mandatory in-services. Oversee preceptors of new hires. Provide regular continuing education programs for nurses. Conductsan annual competency skills evaluation of nurses in preparation for their performance evaluation. Act as the liaison between the nursing instructors and affiliated students. Maintain a resource center with current geriatric literature and other media. Maintain and submits to HR all training attendance documentation. Compile necessary reports for DPH and other regulatory agencies. Supervise student instructors during any resident contact and care.
