Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor – Hospital Setting Location: Jamaica Plain, MA Schedule: Monday–Friday + Every Other Weekend | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Assignment Length: 13 weeks to start (strong potential for extension) Start Date: 2–3 weeks from offer Compensation • Local: $87/hour • Travel: $3,800 gross/week About The Role Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to support a respected hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA. This off-shift leadership position ensures high-quality patient care, appropriate staffing, and adherence to hospital and regulatory standards across multiple units. Key Responsibilities • Provide leadership and oversight for all patient care activities during assigned shifts. • Supervise and coordinate care for diverse patient populations (Community, DPH, DOC, DMH, DDS). • Support and oversee IV therapy and phlebotomy activities during off-shifts. • Review assessments, care plans, and documentation to ensure quality and compliance. • Serve as a Meditech super user in the absence of the Informatics Specialist. • Ensure staffing levels align with census and acuity across all units. • Assist nursing units to maintain appropriate levels of care. • Communicate patient status and updates across shifts and departments. • Collaborate with Nurse Managers on staffing, performance evaluations, and workflow efficiency. • Authorize overtime and prepare or review fiscal reports as needed. • Act as hospital administrator during off-shifts, including emergency response coordination. • Lead Code Blue and Rapid Response Team (RRT) events. • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and hospital policies. • Promote ongoing staff education and professional development. Qualifications Required Upon Hire • Strong leadership and management abilities. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. • Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively motivate staff. • CPR certification and advanced life-saving knowledge. • Understanding of performance improvement initiatives and accreditation standards. Minimum Requirements • 2+ years of full-time RN experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical facility. • 1+ year in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial nursing role (Graduate degree in nursing may substitute for 1 year of experience). • Current and valid Massachusetts RN license. Preferred Skills • Experience working with culturally diverse patient populations. • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations. • Ability to function independently and make sound clinical decisions.
