RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead daily nursing operations in the unit under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON). • Supervise and coordinate care provided by nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) in an effective manner. • Conduct regular rounds to evaluate residents' physical and emotional health; visit daily to monitor and assess conditions. • Provide hands-on nursing care as necessary, including starting IVs, collecting lab samples, and administering treatments as prescribed. • Manage the admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring smooth coordination with the interdisciplinary team. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of residents' medical statuses and care interventions, including physician orders and lab results. • Communicate proactively with residents' families or Powers of Attorney, as well as with attending physicians, regarding status updates and condition changes. • Ensure timely completion of assessments (e.g., MDS) and that resident care plans are efficiently managed. QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut. • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. • Current CPR/BLS (or equivalent) certification as required by facility protocols. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and the care team. • Compassionate, resident-focused care approach, along with excellent organizational and time-management skills. • Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment is preferred. • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English effectively.
