As a Registered Nurse, you will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Additionally, you will communicate timely and accurately regarding patients' clinical conditions, responding to any changes promptly. Qualifications Education/Certification: • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current Registered Nurse license in Connecticut. • Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire. Experience: • Prior experience in surgical settings or labor and delivery, particularly assisting with C-sections, is required. Competencies: • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, along with basic computer skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients’ conditions, addressing psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural needs. • Collaborate with the surgical team to implement and evaluate individualized care plans for surgical patients. • Ensure adherence to medication safety protocols and knowledge of age-specific medication administration practices. • Deliver care in a safe environment, following established policies for patient identification and surgical procedures. • Document nursing processes and responses to care in a timely manner. • Demonstrate flexibility and organizational skills, functioning effectively in stressful situations while utilizing critical thinking. • Pursue personal and professional growth while serving as a role model and mentor in the nursing profession. • Provide age-appropriate care based on patients’ growth and development principles. • Prepare surgical rooms with necessary instruments and supplies efficiently, maintaining aseptic technique throughout procedures. • Communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding instrument counts and specimen handling.
