As a Registered Nurse, you will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Your collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families will be crucial in coordinating effective patient care. Additionally, you will communicate timely and accurately regarding patients' clinical conditions, responding to any changes promptly. Qualifications Education/Certification: • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current Registered Nurse license in Connecticut. • Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire. Experience: • Prior experience in surgical settings or labor and delivery, particularly assisting with C-sections, is required. Competencies: • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, along with basic computer skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients’ conditions, addressing psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural needs. • Collaborate with the surgical team to implement and evaluate individualized care plans for surgical patients. • Ensure adherence to medication safety protocols and knowledge of age-specific medication administration practices. • Deliver care in a safe environment, following established policies for patient identification and surgical procedures. • Document nursing processes and responses to care in a timely manner. • Demonstrate flexibility and organizational skills, functioning effectively in stressful situations while utilizing critical thinking. • Pursue personal and professional growth while serving as a role model and mentor in the nursing profession. • Provide age-appropriate care based on patients’ growth and development principles. • Prepare surgical rooms with necessary instruments and supplies efficiently, maintaining aseptic technique throughout procedures. • Communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding instrument counts and specimen handling.
