A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is available to provide essential healthcare services within a K-12 educational setting specializing in serving students who are visually impaired. This contract role offers an engaging environment where clinical skills meet educational support, providing crucial care tailored to this unique population. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver nursing care to students across K-12 grade levels, addressing both routine health needs and specialized care related to visual impairment. • Manage student health records, monitor and assess student health status, and respond promptly to medical emergencies. • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to support individualized healthcare plans. • Assist with the physical mobility and safety of students, including performing tasks that require physical strength such as pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds and lifting up to 50 pounds. • Maintain compliance with state nursing regulations and school health policies. Qualifications: • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure valid in Maryland. • Experience working with pediatric populations, ideally within school settings. • Ability to work a schedule of 35 evening hours: Monday through Thursday from 3pm to 11pm, and Fridays from 12:45pm to 3:45pm. • Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently. • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to student care.
