Registered Nurse School Setting in Kansas City, MO in Fairway, KS

This opportunity offers a vital role as a Registered Nurse within a K-12 school setting in Kansas City, MO. The position involves supporting general health room nursing needs across multiple school sites in a floating capacity. After an initial two-week training period alongside an experienced nurse, you will independently manage the health room and provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the school day. This contract runs through the current school year and requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work with students from Pre-K through 12th grade.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver nursing services in varied school environments, adapting to different age groups from early childhood to high school
• Manage health room activities independently after training, including assessment, treatment, emergency response, and health education
• Utilize electronic health record systems for accurate and timely charting and communication
• Adjust nursing schedules between 7:00 AM 2:30 PM and 9:00 AM 4:30 PM to meet the needs of different schools, with schedules provided weekly but subject to change
• Collaborate effectively with school staff to ensure student health and safety

Qualifications and Experience:
• Active Registered Nurse license in Missouri with no license flags as verified on Nursys
• Recent pediatric experience preferred, especially in ICU, ER, or school nursing settings
• Proven ability to work independently and manage health services in educational environments
• Comfortable using technology for electronic health records and multitasking during school hours
• Flexibility in work hours and willingness to adapt to variable scheduling demands
• No new graduates; candidate should have relevant clinical experience
