Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A registered nurse with expertise in pediatric diabetes care is needed to provide dedicated 1:1 support for an upper elementary student with special needs in a school setting. This contract position requires comprehensive knowledge of Type 1 diabetes management, including monitoring and administering care throughout the school day and during transportation to and from school. Location: Rohnert Park, CA Setting: Public school upper elementary level Schedule: Full school year, approximately 35 hours per week • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:45 AM 3:45 PM • Wednesday: 7:45 AM 1:15 PM Key Responsibilities: • Provide individualized nursing care and supervision for a student with Type 1 diabetes and special needs • Perform diabetic care tasks, including glucose monitoring and insulin administration • Support safe transportation of the student between home and school • Collaborate closely with school staff without on-site supervision from paraprofessionals or other medical personnel • Maintain accurate records and adhere to all district policies, including fingerprint clearance prior to starting Qualifications and Experience: • Valid California RN license required • Strong expertise in pediatric Type 1 diabetes care • Experience working with children with special needs preferred • Ability to work independently in a school environment Benefits and Details: • Full school year contract • Onsite interview with assistant special education director and nursing coordinator • Fingerprint clearance required before start • No additional training provided, candidate is expected to have necessary skills upon hire This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school nurse to provide critical healthcare services in an educational setting, supporting a students unique medical and educational needs.
