Registered Nurse School Setting - Portsmouth, NH in Eliot, ME

A healthcare professional with nursing experience is needed to provide skilled care in a middle school setting. This role supports a 1:1 male student with Type I Diabetes, requiring close monitoring and collaboration between Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN) staff. The position involves daily interaction with students and school personnel, offering essential medical support during school hours and transport times.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to a student with Type I Diabetes, including monitoring blood glucose levels and administering insulin
• Collaborate closely with RNs (for LPN candidates) to ensure consistent and compliant care delivery
• Accompany the student on the school bus, ensuring safety and timely medical attention during transport
• Maintain accurate health records and communicate with school staff and family regarding student’s health status
• Adhere to school hours with flexibility for transportation times (approximately 6:30am to 2:30pm)

Qualifications:
• Current RN or LPN license in New Hampshire
• For LPN candidates: documented training and experience managing Type I Diabetes in a pediatric setting
• Ability to work under RN supervision in the school environment
• Comfortable with bus riding as part of the daily schedule
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Location: Middle school within Portsmouth, NH area

Contract Details:
• Contract Duration: Current School Year (CSY) through June 15, 2026
• Full-time, Monday through Friday, consistent school schedule with bus riding
• Immediate start preferred
