Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse - Special Procedures, you will work under the supervision of physicians and the Imaging Manager, providing essential nursing support for patients in the radiology department. Your role will involve collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure exceptional patient care and efficiency in both diagnostic and interventional procedures while upholding the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance. Your Responsibilities: • Deliver direct nursing care for radiology patients, including conscious sedation and medication administration. • Evaluate patients' conditions and understanding before, during, and after procedures, monitoring physiological changes and communicating findings to the physician. • Administer prescribed medications, including narcotics, and ensure accurate documentation in patient records. • Manage post-procedure care and communicate patient status to receiving units efficiently. • Maintain and inspect emergency equipment, ensuring functionality and reporting any issues. • Respond promptly to Radiology calls, ensuring coverage across various areas as needed. • Assist with RN-supported procedures, including Nuclear Medicine Stress Tests. • Demonstrate proficiency with all equipment utilized and ensure adherence to medication management policies. • Perform additional duties as assigned. What You Need to Qualify: • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. • NIH Stroke Scale certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. • Associate Degree in Nursing. • At least one year of experience in direct patient care, preferably in a Critical Care setting. • Preferred: Experience with Conscious Sedation in a Critical Care, Special Procedures Radiology, or comparable procedural area.
