In this vital role, you will coordinate enterostomal therapy efforts, initiate and adapt care plans, and provide essential clinical expertise and education to patients, their families, staff, and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to define and implement high standards of care.
• Consult with physicians and staff about innovative care methods and ongoing patient management.
• Contribute towards departmental goals, ensuring adherence to all policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage care for patients with specific GI, GU, and integumentary system disorders, including stomas, wounds, and incontinence.
• Evaluate clinical supplies and equipment for effectiveness, monitor utilization, and manage costs appropriately.
• Follow up with patients, including conducting telephone triage.
• Provide education to patients and families both individually and in groups, ensuring they have access to vital information.
• Keep accurate records of activities and compile necessary statistics.
• Stay updated on research and technology, using insights to educate both staff and patients.
• Document all patient interactions, education, and care provided while ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives alongside a multidisciplinary team.
• Offer consultancy to teams regarding patient assessment, ongoing care, and discharge planning.

Qualifications:
• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited Nursing School is required.
• 3-4 years of clinical experience in enterostomal therapy is required.
• At least 2 years of teaching or precepting experience is required.
• Current WOCN or ET certification is necessary.
• Active RN License in Maryland or Compact State and Basic Life Support certification required.
This position offers a competitive pay range of USD $41.97 - USD $75.61 per hour.
